Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Adam ("I", "me", or "my"), operating as IELTS Band Jump Protocol at bandjumpprotocol.com, collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you visit this website or interact with my services.
By using this website or joining the waitlist, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Who I am
IELTS Band Jump Protocol is operated by Adam, a UK national. This is not a registered company. If you have any questions about your data or this policy, please contact me directly:
Email: contact@bandjumpprotocol.com
Website: bandjumpprotocol.com
2. What personal data I collect
Waitlist sign-ups. When you join the waitlist, I collect your email address. That's it. No name, no phone number, no payment details at this stage.
Course enrolment. If you enrol in the course, I will collect additional information necessary to deliver the course — including your name, contact details, and payment information. This will be handled through a third-party platform.
Communications. If you email me directly, I retain that correspondence in order to respond to you.
Website usage. This website does not currently use analytics software, tracking cookies, or advertising pixels. I do not collect IP addresses or browsing behaviour.
3. How I use your personal data
I use the information I collect for the following purposes:
- To send you IELTS tips, course updates, and resources you signed up for via the waitlist
- To notify you when enrolment opens and to share pricing information
- To deliver the course and communicate with enrolled students
- To respond to enquiries you send me directly
- To comply with any legal obligations that may apply
I will not use your data for any purpose that is incompatible with the purposes listed above without first obtaining your consent.
4. Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
Where UK data protection law applies, I process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for sending marketing and course update emails via the waitlist. You give this consent by joining the waitlist, and you may withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
- Contractual necessity — for processing data required to deliver the course to enrolled students.
- Legitimate interests — for responding to direct enquiries and maintaining basic business records.
5. Third-party services
Kit (formerly ConvertKit). I use Kit to manage the waitlist and send emails. When you join the waitlist, your email address is stored with Kit on servers in the United States. Kit is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can review Kit's privacy policy at kit.com/privacy.
I do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for their own marketing purposes.
6. International data transfers
I am a UK national. Kit, my email service provider, is based in the United States. By joining the waitlist, you acknowledge that your email address may be processed in the United States. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards in accordance with UK data protection law.
7. Data retention
I retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed to the waitlist or are enrolled in a course. If you unsubscribe or request deletion, your data will be removed from active systems within 30 days, subject to any legal obligation to retain records.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Right of access — to request a copy of the personal data I hold about you
- Right to rectification — to ask me to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — to ask me to delete your data ("the right to be forgotten")
- Right to restrict processing — to ask me to limit how I use your data
- Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to withdraw consent — to unsubscribe from emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email I send
To exercise any of these rights, please contact me at contact@bandjumpprotocol.com. I will respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. No cookie consent banner is displayed because no non-essential cookies are set. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.
10. Children's privacy
This website and course are intended for individuals aged 18 and over. I do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided me with personal data, please contact me and I will delete it promptly.
11. Security
I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. However, no method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly as the course platform and payment arrangements are finalised. Any material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. I encourage you to review this page periodically.
13. Complaints
If you have a concern about how I handle your personal data, please contact me in the first instance at contact@bandjumpprotocol.com.
